Lake Weissensee is the highest lake in the Province of Carinthia. The entire area is renowned for its healthy climatic conditions and the varied offering in terms of sports and leisure activities. Bathing pleasures are ensured thanks to water temperatures of up to 25 °C in summer and numerous lakeside accommodations offering direct access to the lake. Due to its extraordinary water quality the range of underwater vision amounts to up to 20 meters.

Lake Weissensee is embedded in the "Naturpark Weissensee" nature reserve covering a total of 75 square kilometers. The picturesque and largely untouched landscape is best explored in the course of a walking or mountain bike tour, with 150 km of tracks and trails to choose from.
