Ossiacher See (Lake Ossiach) is in a picturesque location between Gerlitzen Mountain and the Ossiacher Tauern mountain range. It is the third largest lake in Carinthia with water temperatures of up to 28 °C in summer and offers sports and activities in abundance. The charming and quiet lakeside towns and villages are especially popular among families with children. Due to winds from Gerlitzen Mountain the lake offers perfect conditions for surfing and sailing.

Nested on the eastern shores of the lake, lovely Ossiach is the main town in the area and home to the famous "Stift Ossiach" monastery. It is easily accessible by boat and on a bicycle route suitable for people of all ages.
